Florida League High School Baseball is pleased to announce our Fall Program. Our mission remains the same – we will focus on player development and preparation for college baseball. We had a very strong summer, beating many of the top programs in the United States. We want players who want to get better.
We believe in development. We practice. We work. We don’t just play in tournaments. We will have several team practices and clinics, working to improve on our model from this summer. Clinics are designed for individual work while the practices will focus on team-oriented aspects of the game.
We will participate in a minimum of four competitive tournaments, all within Florida.
In addition to practices, clinics and the tournament schedule, we will host a two-day college recruiting weekend for our program in November. All of our players will participate in the camp / showcase.
The hitting philosophy we teach follows that of Andy Barkett, our Program Director. Andy is the minor league hitting coordinator for the Miami Marlins and founder of Baseball Pro's Academy.
Developing pitchers is key. It is well known that velocity alone is not enough. Matt O’Brien will teach our pitching philosophy. Matt is an area scout for the Toronto Blue Jays. He previously pitched at Florida Atlantic and was later drafted by the Detroit Tigers, and played several years of minor league baseball before becoming a Blue Jays scout.
The Fall Program is for players who graduate high school in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
The tryout is September 12-13 at Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium. The cost of the tryout is $99.
Position Players: $1,099
Pitcher Only: $499
